PleinAire Design Group is a landscape architecture firm providing services for clients throughout California for the last 34 years. Our office is in Santa Maria, doing a wide range of projects for a varied group of clients.

We approach all projects as a unique challenge, each with its own specific demands and needs. We strive to understand these needs and to create a design solution that attains our clients’ goals and provides the greater community with a valuable asset.

We provide a range of services to our clients that include landscape architecture, arboriculture, water management, and consulting to local public agencies. That leads to a varied experience for our staff.

  • Position Overview

    PleinAire Design Group Is currently seeking candidates for the Designer/Project Manager position. We are looking for an experienced Designer/Project Manager with a minimum of 2 years of designer/project management experience. This is a full-time hybrid position in our Santa Maria office.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead projects from conceptual design through construction administration

    • Assist with site visits, tree inventory, tree protection and soils sample tasks

    • Lead multiple projects in various stages of development simultaneously

    • Communication & coordination of project team members, clients, consultants, contractors, and agency officials in a professional manner.

    • Assist and attend project and public meetings.

    • Basic office procedures and organizational protocols

    • Produce & assist with project renderings/perspectives.

    • Assist with RFQ, RFP, RFI’s, & submittals and produce the appropriate documents on a project specific basis.

    • Having the ability to follow directions & work independently without supervision.

    Skills Required:

    • Knowledge and being proficient with AutoCAD.

    • Knowledge and being proficient with Adobe Suite.

    • Knowledge and being proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

    • Knowledge and being proficient in SketchUp. (Desired, but not required)

    • Knowledge and being proficient with Lumion. (Desired, but not required)

    Qualifications:

    • A bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture

    • California Landscape Architecture License (Desired, but not required)

    • A minimum of 2 years of work experience

  • Position Overview

    PleinAire Design Group Is currently seeking candidates for the Jr. Designer/Draftsperson position. This is a full-time hybrid position in our Santa Maria office.

    Responsibilities:

    PleinAire Design Group Is always open to accepting interns. This is an in-person position in our Santa Maria office. Flexible hours to accommodate class schedules if needed and a focus exposure to all phases of design and construction.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with site visits, tree inventory, tree protection and soils sample tasks

    • Basic office procedures and organizational protocols

    • Assist with RFQ, RFP, RFI’s, & submittals and produce the appropriate documents on a project specific basis.

    • Having the ability to follow directions & work independently without supervision.

    • Assist in production of design plans and construction documents.

    Skills Required:

    • Knowledge and being proficient with AutoCAD.

    • Knowledge and being proficient with Adobe Suite.

    • Knowledge and being proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

    Qualifications:

    • Enrolled in an Accredited Landscape Architecture program
